To refine soil chemical properties with particular emphasis to organic matter dynamics, evolution, and nutrient biogeochemical cycling, as affected by soil types and agronomic practices.
To acquire information on C and N cycling useful for understanding the parameters used in simulation models.

The course aims at improving the knowledge on soil organic matter and nutrient dynamics in agroecosystems. The students will integrate the knowledge acquired in this course to better understand the application of simulation models of plant growth and crop production in the field.
